Issou Zuiun Maki-e Wakasa Lacquerware Set of Two Pairs of Chopsticks 23 cm (9 in) / 20.5 cm (8.1 in) and Chopstick Rests (Set of Two)
This set includes two pairs of chopsticks and two chopstick rests, beautifully adorned with maki-e designs. The chopsticks are made of natural wood and coated with lacquer, giving them a calm and luxurious finish.
Zuiun refers to clouds that appear as omens of auspicious events, and the clouds spreading across the sky are represented by gold leaf.
These chopsticks have a beautiful glossy texture and their non-slip tips make it easier to grip food items, even slippery foods such as noodles.
With a contemporary design, these chopsticks showcase two colors—black and red—and come in different sizes, making them ideal for special occasions or when entertaining guests. Presented in a paulownia wood box, they make a wonderful gift.
These chopsticks are made by Ishida which has been producing Wakasa lacquerware for over eighty years. Wakasa lacquerware has been a traditional craft of Obama City, Fukui Prefecture since the early Edo period.
