Form 55
The sculptural nature of this form changes as you view it from different angles. The interior planter is not a perfectly round cylinder, but rather it is flattened into an oval shape that is more obvious from overhead, and the top is cut at an angle that creates a backdrop to accentuate the contrast between the dark reddish-brown glaze and the bright green of the plant. I planted the cactus low within the pot so that the soil is not visible, and it looks as if it’s growing mysteriously out of nowhere. — Tung Chiang
