These gorgeous and extravagantly beautiful Wakasa lacquer chopsticks are made of natural wood and decorated with a series of abalone shell inlays, as though stitched with a thick iridescent thread. Decorating lacquer with shell inlay is one of the traditional techniques of Wakasa lacquerware.
Comfortable to hold and easy to use, they are recommended not only for daily use, but also for entertaining guests or as a gift. Available in two colors: red or black, each in a different size. Please choose the one that best fits your hand size.
It is made by Ishida, which has been making Wakasa lacquerware for more than eighty years. Wakasa lacquerware is a traditional craft of Obama, Fukui Prefecture that has been around since the early Edo period (1603 CE–1868 CE).
